This piece uses the Latin text of Revelation 21:1-4. Written for SATB (with a lot of divisi) symbolizing an angelic choir, and trumpet symbolizing the angel Gabriel, thick and rich harmonies make up the bulk of the piece. Because the text speaks of the unknown future, the music is, in equal parts, mysterious, haunting, and beautiful.
